A Sacred Pilgrimage to Rishikesh March 2026

India Pilgrimage

An Invitation to Walk the Path Where Yoga Was Born

There are journeys that change your life, and there are journeys that help you remember why you came here in the first place.

This pilgrimage is one of those rare journeys. A return to the heart of yoga in its birthplace, Rishikesh.

For centuries, seekers have walked the banks of the Ganga, meditated in caves, and sat in the presence of masters in search of truth.

In 2026, we invite you to walk that same sacred path with us; to slow down, to listen, and to let life itself be your teacher.

About the Pilgrimage

Our Sacred Pilgrimage to Rishikesh is an 8-day spiritual journey through the holy cities of Rishikesh and Haridwar, led by James French, co-founder of Path of Yoga, and India Williams, one of our most beloved senior teachers.

Together, they’ll guide you through yoga, meditation, kirtan, sacred rituals, and visits to revered temples and ashrams, weaving a journey that nourishes body, mind, and spirit.

This is more than a retreat.
It’s a living pilgrimage, a step into the essence of yoga itself.

Highlights of the Journey

Celebrate Holi, the festival of colours. Visit sacred temples including Vashishta Cave, Anandamayi Ma’s Ashram, and Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. Meet and sit with Sri Prem Baba, an enlightened master and James’s guru.

Daily yoga and meditation practices led by India Terry. Evening kirtan and sunset rituals by the River Ganga. Explore the Beatles Ashram, where creativity and devotion met. Walk the streets, cross Laxman Jhula, and feel the energy of Rishikesh’s sacred life. Stay in carefully chosen, family-run hotels, each with warmth, comfort, and authentic Indian hospitality.

Travel together in a private minibus with support, guidance, and community at every step.

A Typical Day

🌞 Morning: We will start the day with a Yoga practice followed by a delicious breakfast. Then we will set off to visit a sacred site or go to Satsang with a Guru.

🌿 Afternoon: Exploring a temple, attending a Ritual and perhaps a dip in the Ganga.

🌙 Evening: Kirtan, Ganga aarti, and shared reflection time.

In the second half of our pilgrimage, we’ll move closer to Prem Baba’s ashram to immerse ourselves more deeply in the energy of the teachings and the serenity of the space.

Each day we’ll experience different practices; sometimes in a shala, sometimes in an ashram, or even on the banks of the Ganga. We’ll also visit James's Hatha teacher.

The first hotel has a shala for practice, and at the second, we’ll use the nearby ashram’s shala.

Holi The Festival of Colours

Holi is the vibrant Hindu festival celebrating the arrival of spring, love, and the triumph of good over evil, primarily by throwing coloured powders and water at one another. Also known as the "Festival of Colours," it takes place on the day of the full moon in the lunar month of Phalgun, typically in late February or early March.
The festival begins with Holika Dahan on the first evening, when bonfires are lit to symbolize the triumph of good over evil. This ritual commemorates Lord Vishnu’s victory over the demon king Hiranyakashipu and serves as a reminder to dispel negativity and evil spirits.
The following day is Rangwali Holi—the vibrant and joyful celebration most people associate with Holi. Friends, families, and communities come together to throw colored powders and water, spreading laughter, love, and unity. The colors mark the end of winter’s grayness and the arrival of spring’s brightness.
Beyond its festive fun, Holi also celebrates the divine love between Radha and Krishna, embodying themes of devotion, joy, and renewal.
