Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa
Josh shares a wealth of wisdom and unparalleled experience, guiding our trainees with insightful understanding.
Spiritual philosophy, breathwork & shadow work.
Josh found yoga and meditation in response to challenging life circumstances, and in spring 2019 he completed his first 200hr teacher training with Path of Yoga in Rishikesh, India. Teaching ever since, he has made yoga his life’s focus and has undertaken continuous training with Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa to develop knowledge and skill in order to be a more potent and authentic channel for the teachings, including completing Path of Yoga’s 300hr level 2 teacher training in 2023. He was invited to be part of the senior teaching team which he gratefully accepted.
His approach to yoga strengthens the mind-body connection, encompassing the traditional eight-limbed path, whilst embracing the great mysteries of life, and honouring the sacred inward journey towards healing and self-awareness. Often praised for his clarity of communication and depth of knowledge, his special interests include spiritual philosophy, breathwork, and shadow work.
Outside of yoga, Josh enjoys the van life, mountain hiking, wild water swimming, and the wonderful world of nature. He also enjoys movies, music, and writing.

Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, infused with influences from Yin
India further enriched her knowledge through an immersive 300-hour training with Path of Yoga in India.
India is an active musician, captivating audiences with her performances under the name India Blue (sometimes even incorporating the soothing sounds of the harp into her classes).
India embarked on her Yoga journey at the age of 13, while simultaneously grappling with an eating disorder, poor mental health, and a sense of not fitting in. It was during this challenging time that she discovered solace and support through attending classes and retreats with her teacher, Lana Lanaia. Through these experiences, India not only developed a loving relationship with her body, appreciating its strength and capabilities, but also opened herself up to the world of healing arts, recognizing that there was something more profound to her existence within this physical form.
This profound spiritual awakening during her teenage years left an indelible mark on India’s life. She found herself engaging in tarot reading sessions in the art room and even playing singing bowls on the bus. This exploration of the unseen realms allowed her to finally perceive herself with clarity, and a strong desire to share this transformative experience with others began to take root. Around the age of 15, India initiated what she referred to as “gatherings” in the nearby woods. These gatherings brought together 10-20 friends from school and beyond, uniting on auspicious dates such as Imbolc, Summer Solstice, and Full Moon to meditate, practice yoga, breathe, and then revel in dance, feasting, and camping. Reluctantly bidding farewell to her school years, India ventured to Guatemala at the age of 18 to undertake a 200-hour training program, initially without the intention of becoming a teacher. However, her journey since then has been one of deep exploration, study, and extensive teaching, primarily focusing on Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, infused with influences from Yin, Restorative, and various other healing modalities. In 2023, India further enriched her knowledge through an immersive 300-hour training with Path of Yoga in India.
India’s introduction to Yoga was a gentle, contemplative, and profoundly spiritual experience, and she intends to offer the same to those she guides. Her aim is to help you cultivate a joyful and sustainable practice that resonates with you in the long term.
In addition to her role as a Yoga instructor, India is also an active musician, captivating audiences with her performances under the name India Blue (sometimes even incorporating the soothing sounds of the harp into her classes). She finds solace in nature and resides by the sea in East Sussex, where she feels a deep connection to the natural world. Furthermore, India occasionally embraces her enchanting side as a Faerie, adding a touch of whimsy and magic to her life and teachings.

During her classes, she guides every-body through an experience of connecting breath and movement, finding stillness and quietness in both body and mind, and encouraging an embodied practice.
Katrien completed both her 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher trainings with Path of Yoga.

Katrien has a PHD in Biomedical science and has worked as a researcher on neuromuscular disorders. Her Yoga journey began during her Biomedical Science studies when Yoga helped her find the rest and ease she needed, both physically and mentally.
After her first yoga class, Katrien quickly discovered her love for teaching and began sharing her passion for yoga, completing her first teacher training in 2016. Her passion has continued to grow, and she has never stopped learning.
Katrien completed her 500 hours with Path of Yoga, doing the Level 1 in Thailand and the Level 2 in Rishikesh, India. She is also a certified Teacher of Yin Yoga. This makes her an all-round yoga teacher with the goal of making yoga accessible for all. Yoga is for everyone, and for everyone, yoga can mean something different, which is the beauty of it!
During her classes, she guides everybody through an experience of connecting breath and movement, finding stillness and quietness in both body and mind, and encouraging an embodied practice. Due to her biomedical background, she is fascinated by the human body and loves diving into the science of yoga.

Emily is primarily trained in Vinyasa & Ashtanga, with a precise physical & functional approach to yoga. She pays close attention to detail, alignment & muscular engagement, whilst still maintaining creativity within her sequences.
With years of dedication, Emily offers deep understanding and transformative guidance to every trainee on their journey.
The human body, health & movement. Physiotherapy, anatomy, biomechanics & injury management. Em is a qualified sports massage therapist.
Em has been teaching yoga for over 10 years and is hugely passionate about the human body, health and movement. She also works as a Physiotherapist in a private muscular-skeletal clinic in South London, which takes her knowledge of the body even further. When graduating with her degree in Physiotherapy, she was awarded a first class honours from St George’s University of London, and she also won the Vice Chancellor’s Prize for most outstanding BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy student from her qualifying cohort. Though physiotherapy plays a large part of her working life, her passion remains yoga: she loves the community and positivity that go hand in hand with yoga and hopes that you do too!
A south-Londoner born and raised, Em bases her own yoga business in Tooting, at a beautiful studio that overlooks the deep blue waters of the Tooting Bec Lido: a glorious outdoor pool in the middle of south London.
She runs sell-out yoga retreats and workshops around the UK and is a senior teacher on the ‘Path of Yoga’ teacher trainings, as well as regularly teaching the anatomy modules training courses in London.
Before her immersion into the world of physiotherapy and yoga, Em received a first class degree from Bristol University in Drama and French, and a Masters on the three year acting course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After working a few years in the acting industry, Em just kept getting drawn to movement work. It eventually became her full time passion and profession, but her acting and vocal training was especially useful for her work as a yoga teacher., Em continues her professional development by regularly attending additional training courses in muscular skeletal physiotherapy, neuroscience and women’s health. Overall, Em just can’t get enough of learning! - which is exactly what draws her to yoga: from every practice, from every student, she learns something new.
In terms of style, Em is primarily trained in vinyasa and ashtanga, with a precise physical and functional approach to yoga. She pays close attention to detail, alignment and muscular engagement, and often includes influences from other movement disciplines and her work as a physiotherapist. Her classes usually feature an overarching theme which can range from an area of the body, a functional-movement concept or progression towards a specific yoga pose. Her classes weave in philosophical concepts and mindfulness amidst movement, and her sequences are thoroughly planned out. Expect strong flows that challenge your strength and mobility, with a fun energetic vibe and encouraging atmosphere. And probably a fair amount of sweat.

An inspiring part of our teaching team, Chris brings vibrant energy and deep passion, empowering the next generation of yoga instructors.
Anatomy and conscious communication
Chris is passionate about helping people in a holistic way; to make yoga accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Students are encouraged to listen to their own bodies and explore what feels good in the present moment. It’s not a race or a competition; it is a journey within.
On the Path of Yoga trainings, Chris helps students to understand yoga asana through the lens of the physical body, drawing on her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, obtained at Queen’s University in Canada.
Chris weaves her understanding of anatomy and physiology into her yoga teaching to craft thoughtful, well-balanced classes. Through gentle reminders, pose variations and attention to detail, she creates a warm and welcoming space in which to learn and practice.
Chris completed her first yoga teacher training in Thailand with James and the amazing team at Path of Yoga in March 2020. Yoga lead her down a path of conscious communication, holding space and doing self-reflective work.
She continues to deepen her knowledge and expand her interest by taking additional trainings such as a 50-Hour Trauma Awareness Training in Thailand, a 10-Day Vipassana (Silent Meditation) Course in Nepal and various NVC (non-violent communication) workshops in Thailand.
When Chris is not on the yoga mat you can find her trekking in Nepal, cooking with her husband, or cozied up with a tea, deep in conversation.

Lisa blends Hatha Vinyasa yoga, Tai Chi and Forrest Yoga to support students in finding joy in movement, strength in challenge and peace in stillness. Her teaching invites students to reconnect with body, mind and spirit through a lens of playful kindness, curiosity and care, encouraging an embodied practice that feels both supportive and empowering.
Lisa completed her 200 hour and 300 hour yoga teacher trainings with Path of Yoga and also assisted on a 200 hour training in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She is deeply grateful to be part of the Path of Yoga family as a teacher, carrying the values and teachings of the lineage into her classes, workshops and community offerings.
Lisa has long been fascinated by the relationship between body and mind, shaped by over a decade of snowboarding and freestyle competition. Repeated injuries led her to yoga as a steady anchor and sparked a strong interest in anatomy and supporting students with injuries or physical limitations. Alongside movement, she loves kitchen creativity and enjoys weaving nourishing rituals, Ayurvedic principles and sensory exploration into her workshops and events.
Lisa discovered yoga as a teenager through a Les Mills Body Balance class in a community gym, where the combination of breath, movement and music felt like magic. Yoga became a steady presence through university, with Ashtanga practice supporting her during challenging years. After graduating with a degree in Anthropology and Linguistics Lisa began her teaching journey abroad, working at summer camps and teaching English to children in Madrid before qualifying and working as a primary teacher in Scotland.
Seeking something different, she moved to Canada to pursue snowboarding, where yoga became central to her physical practice and injury recovery. On returning to Scotland, Lisa spent several years supporting adult learning in a prison, where she began offering meditation sessions and supporting learners with gym-based qualifications. After qualifying as a gym instructor and Les Mills Body Balance instructor, she was pulled back to the mountains for a second time and moved to the French Alps.
During the COVID period, Lisa completed Path of Yoga’s 200-hour training — a turning point that reshaped her relationship with yoga. From this point on, all things yoga started to become her primary focus. She began running her own yoga and Tai Chi business from a community yoga space in the French Alps while practising regularly with a Forrest Yoga teacher.
As her devotion to yoga deepened, Lisa continued to study, teach and refine her craft. This journey eventually led her back to her hometown of Inverness, where she was offered a teaching role in a local yoga studio alongside the opportunity to complete her 300-hour training with Path of Yoga and teach on Path of Yoga trainings in Thailand. She now teaches and runs events, workshops and courses across the Scottish Highlands.
Lisa’s classes invite students on a journey inward, blending anatomical awareness, creative storytelling and playful sequencing. Drawing from Hatha Vinyasa yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Forrest Yoga, her teaching centres on cultivating joy in movement, strength in challenge and peace in stillness, while encouraging a compassionate, curious dialogue with body, mind and spirit.

Classes that invite reconnecting back to the body, with a mix of slow and steady movements but also challenges which allow to tap into your inner strength.
Angela completed her 500-hour yoga teacher training with Path of Yoga.
Yoga philosophy, how the body stores emotions and a guide to understand them, shamanism.
Angela is a former professional dancer and a ballet and modern dance teacher whose journey into yoga began after an injury that brought her dance career to a pause. What began as a path to physical recovery soon unfolded into something much deeper. Through yoga, Angela reconnected with her body, not just as a physical instrument, but as a sacred home and a wise teacher.
Although movement had always been central to her life, it wasn’t until she stepped onto the yoga mat that she discovered how deeply the body could speak. Yoga became a mirror, a space where she met herself over and over again. It helped her grow stronger—not only in her body, but emotionally and spiritually. It supported her to overcome depression, taught her self-love, and invited her to live more authentically and with greater compassion.
Inspired by the profound transformation yoga brought into her life, Angela felt called to become a teacher herself. Today, she guides others with warmth and presence, holding space for them to meet themselves and their emotions with honesty, tenderness, and courage.
Angela completed her 200-hour teacher training with Path of Yoga, an experience that deeply inspired and shaped her journey. Drawn to the school’s integrative and heart-centered approach, she continued with her 300-hour advanced training and now feels honoured to teach alongside the very community that helped ignite her path.

Psycho-spiritual work, & the way that emotions are stored in the body & how we can release them to promote deeper well being & healing.
James was born in London and first discovered yoga in 2003. However, he truly caught the yoga-bug a few years later, during sunrise practices overlooking the rooftops of Udaipur with an old yogi named Prakash.
Following a martial-arts incurred neck injury, he was told that surgery was the only option. However he resisted and experienced an amazing recovery through his Yoga practice. He soon returned to India to train and embark on his path as a Yoga Teacher.
James has received over 1000 hours of training, including two separate 300-hour qualifications – one with his main Asana teacher, Jason Crandell. His other major influences are Max Strom, Yogrishi Vishvketu, David Swenson, Christopher Wallis and his guru, Sri Prem Baba.
In addition to his emphasis on strength and alignment, he incorporates the more subtle, energetic aspects of Hatha Yoga as a route to healing and inner peace.
He has taught globally.
James is currently teaching the online trainings at Path of Yoga (200-hour YTT and 50-hour Chakra course).
